Lew Marklin, Laura Ivancie Wow fans on the Sundance Film Festival Red Carpet
Park City, Utah - Day one of Sundance Film Festival goes without a
hitch and the big talk of the town is the elaborate arrival of independent TV star, Lew Marklin, with Indie recording artist
Laura Ivancie. The two arrived in matching black & White, with Ivancie falling to Marklin's side and Marklin catching
Ivancie for the camera's. Marklin who's show, Icon News, airs on Dish Network in 2012, is ranked #1406 on Hollywood's
list of top 5000 celebrities, by IMDb. IMDb rates over 6 million celebrities worldwide, both alive and dead and compiles
a weekly list of who's hot and who's not. Marklin has remained in the prestigious top 5000 since November of 2011, when
the show debuted, on YouTube of all places after contracts with TUFF TV were disputed, as were Sky Angel, and Marklin's agent
of 3 years, Melissa McComas and Tsunami Wordwide Media was subsequently fired.
Of the Sundance showing Marklin says "This year I wanted to start
out the year on the carpet at Sundance Film Festival. I have been an indie TV producer trying to stick to my guns and
make my way, over the last ten years, which has made me an incredibly broke celebrity, but I never lost my voice or my dignity
in the process of doing what I love. In 2011 I gave much time to the causes and humanitarian messages that are dear
to my heart and this year the theme seems to be politics at the festival, so we wore matching black & white. Laura
is the muse and I am the broadcast. The truth is black & white. Our leaders have been dishing us all shades of grey
and robbing life of all the color and it's gotta stop. Indie artists represent the blue collar man, in my opinion. My
dad worked in a factory with a 6th grade education but gave 30 years of tireless service to his job to give his family an
honest living and a beautiful, safe, comfortable home. That was the American dream. He fought in WWII to protect
that dream so that his son can have his dream, and now I do what I do so that my sons can have that dream. We can't
do it alone, which is why Laura fell by my side and I caught her. It's sorta like that exercise in drama class, in grade
school, where the teacher tells you to fall backwards and trust that your partner will catch you. We gotta work together
and trust that we got each others best interest. The rich need to take Warren Buffet's recent lead and give of their
blessings and just share, but I also believe that we need to stop hoarding resources and learn to let go, and be grateful
for what we need that is met, to end greed, which ultimately fuels war. We also wanted to do something other than just
stand there in our outfits for the cameras, ya know, make a statement." For Ivancie, the Portland based recording artist, this was her very first red carpet appearance.
